This means that we’re going to approve each article manually. I know that there are thousands of backlogged articles waiting to be approved. But rest assured, if your article has followed our terms and condition, they’ll  be no problem to get it approved

At the same time, we’re deleting duplicate articles and we have identified few authors that sending duplicate articles thus violating our terms and conditions, which resulting their articles deleted.

It list down 15 steps to improve your traffic. I put down the list here, but for the full report, you will need to read there.The points that grab my attention are # 2 and 3 which i never think of it before even though i have used this service for quite sometime. Sounds logical for me, but not sure what is the end result.
1. Create at least four keyword posts per day. Most of the top blogs such as Boing Boing, Daily Kos, and Instapundit (with literally tens of thousands of visitors per day) publish an average of 30 small 100-150 word posts per day according to “Secrets of the A-list Bloggers: Lots of Short Posts” by TNL.net

2. Submit to My Yahoo! When you submit your own RSS to My Yahoo it is indexed by Yahoo.

3. Submit to Google’s Reader. When you submit your own blog RSS to Google’s Reader the Google Blog Search will index your site.

4. Add a relevant link directory to your blog and trade links like a demon possessed! Although it may take more time than simply submitting to a search engine one time, this method is perhaps the best way to drive traffic to your site. Use software such as Zeus to speed up the link trading process.

5. Use ping sites like ping-o-matic. Ping your site every time you add a new post.

6. Submit your blog to traditional search engines such as AltaVista, and MSN.

7. Submit your blog to traditional directories such as DMOZ. Directories (particularly DMOZ) increase relevance with Google. DMOZ is very picky, but what do you have to lose by trying?

8. Submit to as many RSS Directories and Search Engines as possible. This is a simple but repetitive process that can be done with software such as RSS SUBMIT.

9. Comment on other blogs. Do not just leave short, lazy comments like “I agree.” Leave well thought out replies that will force readers to wonder “who wrote this?”

10. Use track backs. If there is a blog that you refer to or quote and it is highly relevant to your subject, leave a track back. It increases your link popularity and may even score a few interested readers from the linked site.

11. Go offline. Use newspaper ads, public bulletin boards, business cards, even stickers to let as many people as possible know your blog exists.

12. Add a link to your blog in your e-mail signature block.

13. Use Groups (Usenet). Find a relevant group on Google groups, Yahoo groups, MSN groups or any of the thousands of other FREE group services and find like minded people and talk with them. Make sure to use your blog URL like it is your name.

14. Use Forums. Forums are one of the best places to go for advice. Go to forums and find problems to solve. Make sure you leave your blog name, but be tactful about it; some forums get annoyed with those who selfishly drop a few links to their own site and leave.

15. Tag your website. Tagging is a new idea that has erupted across the web. Sites like Del.icio.us, Technorati and many others have a social feature that allows you to place your article under keywords or “tags” that everyone interested in that tag can see.

			The server migration has finished, but i discover that the migration has migrate the old archive files. Initially, i only discover that the user interface is not up to date, but today, one author inform me that his articles as well as his profile has gone missing.


I would like to apologize  to all authors who has been affected by issue. The migration actually done by my server hosting, but unfortunately they have restored and migrate old backup files. I will investigate which data is lost, and will try to bring it back ASAP.

			I haven’t finish updating my database since the server is perform quite slow recently as well as I’m busy with my daily works. At one point i feel frustrated with my hosting performance.  But i do understand since my database has reach more than 200 mb in size, and this would probably cause time-out happen intermittently when the page is loading especially during US days.


My hosting company has bought new server (dual core, but not sure what core) and offer everyone to move there free of charge. But all migration process must be done by the  subscriber, which is quite troublesome for person especially to me who has less knowledge in networking related things.


I’ll try to get this done during weekend(hopefully i’m free this weekend) to avoid this issue from happen continuously. Ohh, i almost forget that, there will be PC fair coming over this weekend at PISA, maybe I’ll try to get there to survey new stuff and technology  and maybe grab something from there


It’s almost quarter end again for my company (where i’m working).. there is a lot of works and documentation must be done… sigh… don’t know when i can have opportunity to work independently..  Maybe next 5 years when my online income exceeding my salary..

			There are many mays to maximize article directory usage. It is very easy and even my self use it to monitor my directory. I will noticed if there are new articles coming in and read their content in 1 page. Talking about it, you’ll need a RSS Reader but i will suggest Google Reader or Bloglines because of their simplicity and the features they offered


a)Using RSS


    

  1. Navigate to RSS Feed
    2. 

  2. Choose whatever topic that you desired. When you click any topic, the RSS Feed address will appeared on text box above it
    3. 

  3. Copy that address. Open Google Reader or Bloglines and add this new RSS feed address
    4. 



b) Using Ezine Notification


    

  1. Navigate to Ezine Notification
    2. 

  2. Choose any topic that you desired.
    3. 

  3. Choose if you want to rezeive the notification weekly or real time
    4. 

  4. And finally add your name ad your email. You will receive email whenever there is new article added weekly or real time.
    5. 



I’ve been asked by someone if they can use the articles inside their blog or website. The answer is ‘YES’. But please read or TOS first. 			I just completed configuring my Web Directory  using script from PHPLD. This idea started when i received few request from the authors on my Article Directory to exchange link, which i put initially here. When the link grows bigger, i felt that this won’t be good to my hard and hard for me to keep track of them as well as my author. From there i decide to have new web directory and after reviewing few script, i’m interested with PHPLD because of it widely used by other directory owner, but more importantly it is free (for version 2.1).

			Dear all authors,


I’m currently doing housekeeping on my article directory. This is including deletion of article with less than 500 - 600 word s (depend on the content) and duplicate content. I’ll also remove all unnecessary ads except adsense, kontera and chitika. This is to ensure the loading time is faster especially those who are using non-broadband internet connection.


This is one of my steps to make this article directory better place , not only for author but to reader as well. I knew that article directory is one of the easiest source of traffic, but i do hope that article submitted is meaningful and not purposely targeted for promotion or traffic only

			Since starting writing blogs few months back, recently i have seen a lot of spam comment coming in. In average there are 2-3 post promoting sex-related stuff, real estate and etc. Luckily wordpress has comment notification tools to inform about this thus remove it immediately

I doubt the process of sending this comment are done manually, but through some scripts which automate all those processes. The fact that nowadays a lot of spam comment is because it was one of the easiest and cheapest way to promote the products or services regardless the morality of the ways.

Imagine how good the world without spam… no spam filter, no space wasted. :)  Your thought?

			It has been almost 6 month now since i first launch my article directory which is also my first paid hosting website (i only use blogger, wordpress and googlepages before).The result is not like what i’m expected, but i did learn a lot so far. I did all on my own from the scratch, from setting up the article directory code, drive traffic to my website and try to monetize it using adsense, kontera and chitka.


It wasn’t easy task to promote your website thus drive traffic to it. I have to admit that, especially with very limited budget, it’s quiet difficult to get traffic and competing with well establish website all over the net. FYI, I’m not spending single cent on it, i did it all manually, by myself.


There are several ways that i think is useful and started to show the result,  such as posting your site to directories, link exchange, use blog to promote the articles, submit your site to social networking site such as Digg, Squidoo and etc. I hope i’ll comeup with free e-book soon specially to my subsriber.


Well, thats all for now. I do apologize if there are  grammatical mistakes in this post. I look forward to hear any comment from you guys.

	Adsense Alternatives

			Greeting. After reading Contextual Ads System : Earning Beyond Adsense article from Joel Comm(adsense guru for those who didn’t know), i have had install it on this blog. Bear in mind, do not put kontera together with adsense, since it was same contexual style advertising.


You can get kontera for wordpress plugin from this URL here . Just follow the instruction, and in 5 minutes, you are done.


You will notice some words are highlighted and underlined, when you hover your mouse over there, you will see small windows popped out, there you go, kontera ads.

Try it yourself. I’m not sure if the income is great, but at least you have an alternatives to adsense, in case your adsense account banned, you will still be able to monetize your website/blog using this way

Digg one of my favourite social bookmarking, has stricten it policy to combat spamming of articles submitted to them. Karim Yergaliyev, one of Digg’s top-rated users has had his account deleted due to violating the digg’s term and condition.


Digg which has reputation as the most successfull and highly rated  social bookmarking has attracted thousand of marketer to take advantage of its vast amount of member and reader to their site by submitting articles which has marketing related content inside.


This is frustating to the readers, since most of them visit digg to find high quality source of knowledge and not promotin articles. I’m personally agree with what Digg has done so far, in order to maintain  its reputation as well as to only keep useful articles and attract genuine readers

			I have came accross this website when i read book ‘How to make money online’ which i bought yesterday for RM29. There are a lot of interesting features there, such as submit your site to search engine automatically, submit your site to directories and etc. The owner of this site, Robert Woodhead has generously let us use it for free. If you satisfied with the services, you can donate to him anytime

But most importantly, it has tutorial how to prepare your site before submitted to search engine and directories. This is crucial part since most of the time, people find your site from search engine.


However, with time changes, some of the directories listed no longer accept automatic submission or they start charging some fee to get listed. That is how world now ;)  .


I’m not sure what is outcome of this tool to my website, hopefully i will get better ranking or known by internet folks out there. Will let you know the result 2-3 days later.

			When we began updating our company’s Internet marketing strategy, we figured - based on all the hype, that we should consider integrating Google’s AdSense contextual advertising into it. After all we’ve got a lot of original content, some of which has been getting a fair amount or traffic since 1999. Would AdSense help us further monitize that?


We are business coaches and consultants with over a century of experience helping business owners redesign their companies for the future. Our web site was established to help us do that and it has been advertiser supported since it was launched in 1999.


What we heard about AdSense made it sound like the perfect solution for us. The ads displayed are supposed to be relevant to the content on the page. We swap in the code - they do the rest, sell the ads, collect the money and send us a check. What could be better than that?


There was a catch however. In order to learn about AdSense, more than the bare bones explanation available on Google, we had to do online research, which connected us to the AdSense Internet marketers selling every sort of secret process and system anyone could imagine. The results were overwhelming.


Once I clicked on a link for more information - it all goes back to that single click, I was bombarded by the “make a fortune”, “generate massive traffic”, “explode your AdSense revenue”, “capture high paying keywords”, and the rest of the “unlimited profit from AdSense” brigade. What a bunch of baloney!


What I found out, with that first click, was if you request information from one of the AdSense “make a fortune” people, you end up getting email from them 24/7/365 and from all of their joint venture partners as well. If the get out the vote people were as effective as these marketers we’d have a 90% turnout at the polls. But I digress.


During the six months or so that we went through this I spoke to numerous business coaches and others who have been seduced by the hype and wasted their time optimizing their web sites for Google’s AdSense, which only served to get people they wanted to do business with to leave them for their competitors. They were optimizing their web sites so that people who would otherwise pay them hundreds or thousands of dollars in fees, would click on a well placed AdSense link and they’d receive thirty cents instead.


Last night, when I was thinking about this article, I received another seductive AdSense guru’s email. I found myself rethinking what we are doing - that is working very well than you very much, listening and watching the video he sent and saying to myself, “Hey, it’s only a hundred and thirty seven bucks, what if it works?”


Fortunately the ball game came on before I could buy it, which would have resulted in me losing my focus on what’s already working. I deleted the email and put this guy on my junk mail filter’s list.


So be smart, don’t you get on the “make a fortune with AdSense” bandwagon. You won’t make a fortune and you’ll undermine everything else you’re doing.


I am not saying that AdSense is a bad thing. We now have AdSense code on 3,000 pages of stories, articles, and resources for business owners and professionals - it’s free money from people we are never going to do business with anyway. But it is not our focus. If you visit our web site you’ll see how we integrate it, hopefully making it attractive to the people who are not our ideal prospects.


We created and continually develop our web site with the primary objective of connecting with people who’ll contact us about our services. Everything we do is to cast our net in a wider and wider circle to connect with people who have never heard of us, so they’ll contact us when they are ready to buy our services.


If, after seeing what we’re offering, they don’t want to contact us - well they’re going to leave and go somewhere else. What AdSense does is create a logical place for them to go next, and we get paid for it.


It’s like getting all the people who don’t buy from us to pay us. Now that’s profit! The better job we do with all the search engine stuff the more relevant the AdSense adds are so not only do the right people (potentially) visit our web site to do business with us AND the more likely the other are to leave via an AdSense ad when they don’t think we have what they are looking for. Last month we had a click through rate of 8.53%. We’d have been nuts to overlook AdSense.


Just don’t be seduced down the hype-filled path toward disillusionment. Focus your efforts on building your business, not the business of the Internet marketers who want to sell you their so-called “insider secrets”.


When you do sign up for AdSense and this is a must, use it wisely - to get paid by the people who will never be your customers anyway. You won’t make a zillion dollars in AdSense riches like the hucksters say you will, but that would never have happened anyway.


However, your total revenues will grow as your Internet marketing strategy becomes more effective.


And you’ll have put a turnstile on the door many of your non-prospects will be using when they leave your site forever. Those people you were never going to meet or do business with will be dropping those nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollars in your pocket as they leave.
